The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes to replace the US 15 Bridge over Sparrow Swamp in Darlington County, SC. The proposed project is located on US 15, approximately 2 miles west of Lydia and 0.5 mile east of the Darlington/Lee County line.

The proposed improvements include replacing the existing bridge over Sparrow Swamp with a new bridge.

The purpose of the proposed project is to eliminate the structural deficiencies of the US-15 bridge over the Sparrow Swamp.

**Structurally Deficient is a status used to describe a bridge that has one or more structural defects that require attention. This status does not mean the bridge is unsafe for vehicle traffic.**
