Project Description:
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes bridge repair, rehabilitation, and preservation services for the SC 274 NB (Hands Mill Highway) Bridge over Big Allison Creek in York County. Through this program, the bridge will undergo structural repairs in an effort to remove current load restrictions and preserve and extend its service life.
Proposed Improvements:

Traffic will be altered for 45 days, under contra flow traffic control (traffic shifted to the adjacent SC 274 Southbound bridge), for anticipated for deck work; All other work will be completed under normal traffic operations.
Purpose and Need:
The purpose of this project is to reduce the number of load restricted bridges by performing comprehensive and cost effective bridge repairs identified at SC 274 NB (Hands Mill Highway) Bridge over Big Allison Creek in York County.
These repairs are part of SCDOT's Statewide Closed and Load Restricted Bridge Repair Program. The proposed repairs will improve mobility in the region and extend the service life of the bridge.
