The Department proposes intersection improvements to US 21 (Catawba River Road) at SC 9 (Lancaster Highway) in Chester County, South Carolina. This intersection was selected for improvement by the Catawba Council of Governments.

Proposed Improvements
The proposed project will convert the current intersection of US 21 (Catawba River Road) @ SC 9 (Lancaster Highway) to a single lane roundabout.
Purpose and Need
The purpose of the project is to help reduce the frequency and severity of crashes occurring at this intersection. The roundabout design is an innovative intersection design that improves safety.
