The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes to provide safety improvements along Millwood Avenue from Gervais Street to Devine Street in Richland County.

The purpose of the project is to improve safety for all modes of transportation along Millwood Avenue from Gervais Street to Devine Street.

The corridor is heavily traveled by motorists and pedestrians and is vital for supporting commerce, special events, commuters, retail and recreation. This corridor was selected for improvements by SCDOT's Traffic Safety Office due to the crash history and volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the corridor.

The improvements being considered were developed from a Road Safety Assessment that was conducted in the Fall of 2023. Typical improvements proposed include signal, signage and sidewalk improvements.
